ABOUT
A B2B Marketplace for Pharmacies, enabling them to effortlessly access and contract curated services and product within their existing ERP system.
The Problem: the pharmaceutical industry has shifted from product-centric to service-oriented, with major players adopting digital services and omnichannel experiences. However, pharmacies, often small and fragmented, lack the digital expertise or budget to keep up. Additionally, both pharmacies and labs have been missing a unified platform for seamless buying and selling of products.
Discovery: we began by researching pharmacies (demand side) and product and service providers (supply side) to (i) validate the marketplace concept and (ii) identify the most valuable services and products to offer. After conducting over 50 interviews, we identified key service lines for pharmacies: healthcare startups, insurers, loyalty programs, consulting firms, and more. For parapharmacies, we found an opportunity to create a data-driven aggregator, enabling labs to run targeted campaigns and secure better pricing for pharmacies.
The Final Product: we partnered with Minsait to develop the marketplace, focusing on web structure, user experience, and contracting workflows. We also ensured seamless integration with ERP systems, allowing pharmacies to access the marketplace as a built-in feature. For service providers, we crafted tailored business workflows to connect pharmacies through the marketplace. For labs, we developed an aggregator and data intelligence modules for targeted campaigns, as well as a lab profile for information and training on new products.
The Outcomes: the marketplace successfully validated with pharmacies and services & labs suppliers, developed and prepared for deployment across the ERPs of 15,000 pharmacies. We also defined and closed agreements with three providers, including Repsol's Waylet.
